Mascara, Applying and Choosing from Top Brands
Mascara is a girl’s best friend, when it is the perfect match for her eyes. The main trick is to wear it properly for creating that impactful look. In many countries it is summer time and you have to pick the right beauty product that will battle against heat and waves. When it comes to choosing any product that is to be used on human skin, quality should play an important role in making the final decision.
One thing I’m fanatical about is mascara, and the search for the perfect one has been on since my college days. I guess it is a women’s thing your beauty kit is always incomplete without the right mascara.I like my lashes unnaturally full and long, they should be close to fake without being fake. The market is flooded with different mascaras that are tailor made for a curly look; clearly defined; longer and more voluminous lashes.
We friends were talking over tea and we could not agree more that the second dearest beauty product after lipstick would be a mascara for all of us. It is what gives the eyes a major boost and they help make the most captivating eyes ever. Available in two forms the regular and water proof mascaras; I preferred to always go with the water proof mascara primarily as in India the summer is really gruelling and I would rather not prefer looking like a clown with all the sweat draining off the mascara over my face. Most water-resistant formulas are so processed that they do not smudge or flake easily.
Here is my list of top mascaras that have worked for me and they will protect your eye lashes in the best way possible, brighten up eyes and will not flake and give you the desired impact you are looking for.
Top brands of mascara
- L'Oréal Voluminous Volume Building Mascara:L'Oreal Voluminous Volume Building Mascara is one of my most recent and best prices cosmetics purchases. This waterproof mascara promises 4 times fuller lashes and boasts a patented volume-maximizing brush. It is available at a drugstore like boots or super drug, at a bargain price. You can choose a pick from black brown, black to soft black shades. The brush does not look in any way unique - just a regular straight brush with medium-size bristles. I believe this mascara is also available with a curved brush, but mine is straight. It works very well, nicely separating and lengthening the eyelashes. Used it on harsh weathers rainy or sunny it does not smudge. Easy to use and removes easily too.
- Lancome Definicils High Definition Mascara:Lancome calls itself "the world's mascara leader" and Definicils High Definition Mascara is its best seller. This mascara was surely not one of my impulse buys, I was in a beauty store in Sweden and happen to just ask the attendant which would she recommend. She said lancome has worked wonders for her and should give it a try however the cost was a major deterrent in making the choice. I let it stay for a day before I thought this had several good pointers, namely it did not clump, easily removable, the brush gives you a effect without a lash comb. Separates lashes nicely it adds length, but is not a volumizer.
- Maybelline Full 'N Soft Mascara:I love full n soft gave this as a gift to my sister, she has thin lashes and for a curly impact this is just the right choice. Its feather light so it does not weight down your lashes when u try to make them curly. For evening and party events for a more dramatic look she goes for layering. Like any good mascara it does not make you feel brittle and doesn’t get clumsy.
- Max Factor 2000 Calorie Mascara:Max Factor’s ads have claimed that use the 2000 Calorie Mascara for a thick, dramatic look that volumizes lashes up to 200%. It’s water resistant and smudge proof, naturally, and its hypoallergenic formula is suitable for sensitive eyes and contact lens wearers. The brush is straight and fluffy. The water proof version called the 2000 Calorie Aqua Lash Mascara. But, the wand is a pretty good length, and you don’t have to hold yourself in weird positions to apply the mascara.
Dare to experiment
I have always stuck to the old favourite black as this seems to go down well even in the day as well in the night. For a natural look, match your mascara with your hair color. Brunettes can wear black mascara while blondes can opt for a browner shade. Colored mascaras also do exist in the market however there is not a huge market for them in india, well down in London and Sweden i have seen girls looking hot and sexy and daring to experiment with the colors such as brown and blue. The rule of thumb is that they don't go well with conservative outfits and must be avoided at the workplace.
How to apply mascara
Mascara application guidelines
- There is a proper technique by which one ought to use and apply a mascara, when you use the wand for application give it a certain angle by tilting it and apply it as close to the lash line.
- Apply a first coat above the lashes and a second coat from under the eyelashes for fuller and longer lashes.
- Keep the mascara wand clean and bacteria free, when it gets all clumpy clean off theexcess by wiping your brush on a tissue.
- Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder, and you surely don’t want to mess up with the eyes. Never buy or keep dried mascara, as it may be harmful for the eyes. Changing it every three to four months is advisable by beauty experts.
- The mascara wand repeatedly into the tube dries out mascara more quickly and is a major cause for creating bacteria inside the tube.
- Never ever share your mascara, it does not matter how close friends you are or siblings some things are better left personal.
- Last but not the least, remove it with a gentle eye makeup remover do not ever wear makeup to bed.
What are you waiting for, there is no stopping a beautiful girl batting her eyelashes and making hearts flutter!!!
