Best Dressed Women in Oscars 2009

Big hopes, big names, huge speculations are all a part of a magnanimous event such as oscars. Fashion has always played a major role when it comes to adding all the glitz and glamour the Oscars are famous for. The entire ensemble from the dress, jewelry to the look of the celebrities becomes trendsetters in the fashion industry. The 81^st annual academy awards was no different, it was one of the best stylized red carpets ever. This year brought in a lot of white and shades of white, compared to last year’s red domination.

I have watched repeat telecasts of academy awards so many times primarily to see how different this year it would be and how opulent is this year’s Oscar. It was ecstatic to watch Bollywood cinema on the mainstream platform. These are some of my personal picks when it comes to the beautiful ladies who stunned one and all on this global podium.

Angelina Jolie wore a simple black Elie Saab Couture gown to yesterday's Academy Awards ceremony. She lifted up this entirely old and boring look to life with huge emerald earrings and a matching ring from Lorraine Schwartz. I thought that touch alone made her one of the best-dressed women of the evening. They sparkled and glittered that made the rest of the ensemble insignificant. She is born gorgeous does she need to add up more to her drop dead looks. She had the most handsome escort she could ever ask for in the form of the man of her life Brad Pitt.

Kate Winslet: With a neat hair do on top, she looked elegant as ever in a silver and black lace YSL Atelier gown. She is one classy lady and knows how to carry it well.

Anne Hathaway, remember the stunning princess from the princess diaries sequels; she looked like a real one in Armani Prive with Cartier jewels. The trend this season was jurely bare minimum and accessorize with jewelry. She looked so elegantly dressed in this flowy gown with such detail at the bottom it looked splendid.  

Freida Pinto: Freido pinto might have thanked her stars for playing the romantic lead for an Oscar winning movie such as Slumdog millionaire. Slumdog Millionaire has sweeped eight Oscars in a row and created history. It is a big moment for all Indians and we are happy for all of them. she is a beautiful Indian dusky female, she dared to go different by choosing a stunning blue lacy curvaceous John Galliano gown. Kept her makeup natural-looking she looked at ease as if she belonged there. It indeed was a perfect blend where east meets west.

Tina Fey: Tina's figure rocks and she finally lets us see that in her crystal-beaded full-length formfitter. She was in perfect shape and boy how hard would these celebs have worked out to look this good.

Sarah Jessica Parker:She was dresses as a wedding bride, and wow she looked so darn pretty. Her Dior Haute Couture -- which she described as "barely mint" or "maybe seafoam" -- was trailing yards of tulle. Some personally do not like flowy dresses but I personally like them so im all in for voting her as one of the best that night.

Jen Aniston: Jennifer Aniston recently celebrated the big 40, but she looked graceful in the white gown. Her skin glowed like fresh dew, somehow something was amiss she looked splendid but was fumbly and not comfortable in her skin. Her jenifer aniston hairstyle was still dominant, it was somewhat tussled and crowned with a playful braid down the right-side of her hairline. Jen paired her youthful hair with a sun-kissed face.

Beyonce is one of the finest artists of this generation, damn I love her and her music so much. She is a stunning damsel and her performance in the red dress was breathtaking. However it is needless to say everyone would expect her to be breathtaking at the red carpet as well but you will be heavily disappointed with her attire. She wore a black dress from her label house the Dereon.What was she thinking, she looked like she needed a fashion intervention. She is the only one who was just not right for the big day,
